The F18 is a multi-role fighter jet designed for the United States Navy and Marine Corps. In its fighter mode, the F/A-18 is used primarily as a fighter escort. The F18 cockpit landing on an aircraft carrier is an amazing feat of aviation engineering and skill. I’ll try to get some screenshots if I can duplicate this tomorrow. The F/A-18 Hornet and Super Hornet are all-weather, twin-engine, mid-wing, multi-mission, carrier-suitable tactical aircraft. the rare chance to ride along in the cockpit of a Hornet to experience the power and grace of the aircraft in an effort to promote the annual air show.

Could something have changed with an update to the mod? I’m almost positive I’ve never seen this on my earlier flights. That’s fine, I get why the external view is like that, but why am I seeing the cockpit HUD view offset? That feels like a bug to me. The center of my screen is pointed along the axis of flight path (velocity vector) while the plane itself is slightly angled into the wind. There are now less than a handful of restored fighter jet cockpits in. You get a similar idea of this effect if you switch to the external chase view. These aircraft speak to the glory of American aviation ingenuity through elements. It will appear shifted to the left because the plane is slightly crabbed into the wind. When flying straight and level, the cockpit HUD display is offset to one side based on the velocity vector of the aircraft. As its name suggests, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is a simulation game, meaning it focuses on a realistic experience that mirrors the real world. There are many known and documented issues with the HUD on the forums, but I noticed something new (to me at least) for the first time today and wanted to see if others see this, and if so, if anyone has an idea what is causing it. I’m not sure if it also happens with the stock F/A-18 as I haven’t checked there yet. I’m posting in the 3rd Party category because I noticed this while flying the Super Warrior F/A-18 mod.
